Ionizers generate negative ions to counteract pollutants, which are positive ions. The ions bind to particles, reversing their polarity so they drop to the nearest surface or are neutralized. The devices create a refreshing environment and emit a fresh scent similar to that of country air.
The IonChamp, manufactured in Denmark, has a slim, attractive and unobtrusive design. It consists of the unit itself and a stand so that you can place it on any surface. Ion indicator shows you that it’s working.
Two sizes: Full size, Model C-35, and mini, Model C-33. Full size (pictured) measures 10”H x 11”W x 3 ˝”D and covers 425 square feet. Important Notes: These units have a replaceable ion charger with a carbon fiber brush that attracts ions. However, these ionizers are no longer being made and parts are not available. When the carbon brush becomes too dirty to clean (the green “on” light will not light up), the unit will no longer work effectively. However, it will take a few years for this to happen. So you still will get a lot of use out of the ionizer.
In addition, the full-size unit uses collection paper, which helps attract the dirt. This brand’s paper is no longer available; the unit comes with a pack of 50 sheets. When you use up this paper, you can purchase any type of ionizer collection sheet and cut it to fit. Silent Air collection papers (Model 2000 will fit this unit) are available by clicking here. The unit will work without the paper, but the dirt will collect on the unit instead of on the paper. The mini does not use collection paper.
Notes on Condition: Full size was used as a demo but was seldom turned on and is in good condition. You will see some black dirt on the surface of the ionizer, which is from the ions. Box is slightly creased. Mini model was never used and is still in wrapper; box is slightly creased. Manufacturer’s warranty does not apply because units are no longer being made.
