| Although many glare screens on the market claim to protect computer users from EMFs, they can protect only from the static electric field. Our .7-mil.-thick screens block 99.9% of X-rays, ultraviolet (UV) rays and infrared rays.(Attaches to top and bottom of screen with Velcro) Note on X-rays: The standard for maximum emissions of X-rays in TVs and computer monitors is .5 millirads (measured at a distance of 6 cm). While this may not seem like a lot, and many computers exceed this standard, a few have mechanical problems that cause leakage. Dr. John Ott has shown that some form of radiation comes from monitors and cathodes and can be blocked only by lead. We also believe that that no amount is acceptable because X-ray radiation can accumulate in the body over time. Determining Shield Size: Measure the size of your screen (length x height), add 1 1/2” to these measurements and then find the closest shield. The shield needs to overlap the frame around the screen by at least 1/2” to 3/4” so it can be affixed to the computer with Velcro tape (included with each unit). 20-21” computer monitor (16 1/2” x 19 1/2”) |
