The Amaircare car unit (XR-100) uses a three-stage filtration process: Stage 1 is an activated carbon filter for odors and large particles; Stage 2 is an electret-charged (electrostatic) filter media for submicron particles such as dust, pollen and cigarette smoke; and Stage 3 uses zeolite for volatile organic chemicals (gasses, fumes and odors).
